Showers Pass introduces highly visible cycling specific jackets, the Hi-Vis Torch Jacket and Hi-Vis Elite, both featuring 4 LED Beacon lights that seamlessly integrate in grommets on the cuffs and back of the jacket, providing approximately 200 hours on high flashing mode, and ensuring the cyclist is visible regardless the time of day.
First of its kind, and unlike other reflective jackets on the market, the Torch is fully waterproof, stretchy and does not sacrifice breathability for visibility thanks to cutting-edge MapREflect Fabric as well as high performance neon green side panels for daytime visibility. The integrated LED lights automatically turn off after an hour on flashing mode and after 30 minutes on solid mode, offering maximum battery life for those longer rides. The jacket also features an internal venting system for adjustable cooling with core vents, a back vent and airflow-regulating cuffs.
For cyclists who demand extra ventilation for longer rides, the Hi Vis Elite Jacket offers 24-hour visibility without compromising comfort. Fully waterproof, and breathable fabric provides a slight stretch to move comfortably with the cyclist. Made with a highly visible neon green body and silver sides for pedestrians and motorcyclists.
“We didn’t want to use an off-the-shelf reflective fabric because none of them performed to our standards. So we spent 2 years developing our MapREflectTM fabric. Some in the industry have described it as the ‘Holy Grail of reflective fabric’, since it is highly reflective but also waterproof, breathable, stretchy, and light,” says Ranson.
The MapREflectTM fabric design is made up of 11 international cities known for cycling (Portland, New York, Washington DC, Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, London, Newcastle, Berlin, Sydney and Taipei).
