Schwinn Vantage FXe and RXe: The Surprise Ebikes we Didn’t see Coming
Vantage FXe eBike
The all-new Schwinn Vantage FXe is a fun, fast and responsive bike made for a multitude of uses. Whether riding to stay fit, commuting to work, pulling the kids, running errands, or simply getting around the neighborhood, this bike is the right tool for the job. The bike’s upright riding position and flat handlebars help improve confidence making it perfect for riders who want a high performance, multi-use bicycle, without sacrificing comfort.
“We’ve always designed bikes that afford more people the opportunity to ride with confidence,” said Dave Duecker, Schwinn Vice President of Product Development. “We believe everyone deserves to experience the sense of freedom that comes from riding a bike. With that in mind, our product team has invested time into developing our e-bike offering in hope that it will result in more people enjoying the pastime we all love.”
“The Smooth Ride Technology uses elastomer which is built-in to give up to 15 millimeters of travel while maintaining lateral stiffness, so the rider doesn’t lose energy transfer,” Said Chuck McFarland, Schwinn e-Movement Product Manager. “By decoupling the seat stays from the seat tube we can accomplish a more enjoyable riding experience, especially for e-bike users.”
The Schwinn Vantage FXe also comes standard with SRAM Apex 11sp shifting controlled by a S700 Double Tap thumb shifter. The mustache style alloy bar keeps wrists in a comfortable, neutral position. 250 watts of power from Bosch’s Performance Line Cruise drive system provides assistance up to 20mph making any ride more enjoyable while Tektro mechanical disc brakes provide smooth, consistent control so the rider can relax and enjoy.
Vantage RXe’s SRAM Apex Double tap shifter/brake levers provide precise shifting and braking in one solid package and double butted alloy flared drop bars give the rider multiple touch points while maintaining an aggressive, aerodynamic riding position. The bike’s Bosch Performance Line Speed drive unit offers 350 watts of power and assists up to 28mph offering the boost a rider needs to keep up with the local group ride or cruise comfortably through the countryside at their own pace. Kenda Flintridge tires and thru axle hubs front and rear provide precision tracking through turns at speed.
The new Schwinn Vantage FXe and RXe are available at Amazon.com and retails for $3,499.99 and the $3,999.99 respectively.
