Bringing one of the most advanced German-engineered bike technologies to North America, Priority Bicycles launches The 600 All-Road. The new automotive-inspired model offers a combination of the award winning 12-speed Pinion Gearbox, Gates Carbon Drive belt, and WTB Road Plus tires. The result is a supercharged bicycle offering the versatility of road performance for daily commuters and dirt-ready features for off-road adventurers.

“Riders today want more from their bicycles. A commuter has to be more than just a commuter, an off-road bike needs to be able to go on-road. So we looked at how we can broaden the range of their riding needs without sacrificing performance,” said Dave Weiner, President of Priority Bicycles. “With The 600, we combine precision engineering with a go-anywhere adventurous spirit. It offers power and versatility for riders to use The 600 as a city commuter, road rambler, gravel grinder or bike-packing adventure bike.”

At the heart of The 600 is the high-performance Pinion Gearbox. Featuring an industry-leading 600% gear range, the Pinion is designed and engineered by two former Porsche transmission engineers who want to bring the performance, reliability, and durability of automotive-style shifting to bicycles. “When we were at Porsche we asked ourselves, why are we still using derailleurs on bikes? Could you imagine one on a car? And the idea was born,” says Christoph Lermen, CEO of Pinion. “We designed the low maintenance Pinion gearbox, inspired by a car’s transmission, that can run for hundreds of thousands of miles dependably.”

The fully enclosed transmission is precise, low-wear, and virtually maintenance free—requiring a simple oil change once every 6,000 miles. In addition, the gearbox sits between the pedals in the middle of the bicycle to allow for superior weight distribution, handling, and eliminates the need for a derailleur. “By placing the gearbox in the center of the bicycle, it makes the bike more nimble and you can feel your power in the ride. When riders try it for the first time, you can see their happy moment of realization for this whole new riding experience,” says Lermen.

Paired with the Pinion Gearbox, The 600 features the premium WTB seat and Road Plus tubeless-ready rims and tires. The WTB tires give the rider flexibility to increase PSI for efficient road travel, and lower PSI for added off-road performance.
