Why The Wilde Bicycle Co. Rambler is a Genuine All-Road Bike

A male cyclist riding The Wild Bicycle Co. Rambler SL on a dusty dirt road at speed.

Wilde Bicycle Co. unveiled a drop bar all-road bike that invites riders to explore the vast possibilities of the world around us. The Rambler is a true all-arounder, a modern genre adaptation with disc brakes, thru axles, and generous tire clearance. And the bike is capable of gravel centuries, quick road loops, light touring, b-roads, and unpredictable daily life adventures,

The Rambler offers all the mounts a rider could want with quick yet fun geometry while prioritizing comfort for long days in the saddle. Like all Wilde bikes, the Rambler is built with higher stack heights.

“I hesitate to use the phrase ‘quiver killer’ because it’s played out, but my gravel bike has become my road bike, my touring bike, my commuter, and my fire road explorer,”

“It’s the bike I reach for most often, and the Rambler delivers this capability with a phenomenal ride quality and feature set at a very competitive price point.”

Jeff Frane, Wilde Bicycle Co. founder, and CEO.

The Rambler comes in two stock build packages: SRAM Rival AXS (USD 3,950) and Shimano GRX (USD 3,100). However, Wilde offers custom builds and can piece together your dream ATB using specific parts of your choosing.

The Rambler is also available as a frames (frame/fork) for USD 1,500.

Both builds include phosphate-dipped and electrophoretic deposition coated for corrosion resistance and durability, and the Rambler is copper metallic with a wet paint finish.

What Makes the Rambler a Good All-road Bike?

An all-road bike can handle different types of terrain, such as paved roads, gravel roads, dirt paths, and cobblestones. The Rambler does all these things and more. It is similar to a road bike (aesthetically) but with more comfort features, such as wider tires, relaxed geometry, and varying frame materials (such as steel).

The Wilde Bicycle Co Rambler is a good all-arounder bike because it has the following features:

  • A modern geometry that is agile and comfortable for long rides.
  • Disc brakes and thru axles for better braking performance and stability.
  • It has a generous tire clearance can fit up to 700C x 50mm or 650B x 2.2″ tires, making it suitable for various terrains such as gravel, road, or b-roads.
  • Multiple mounts for racks, fenders, bottles, and bags, make it versatile for light touring or daily commuting.
  • Carbon fork that reduces weight and improves ride quality.
  • Customizable finish that reflects the rider’s personality and preferences.

Why is Steel Perfect for All-road Bikes?

The Rambler is built with a proprietary double-butted, chromoly tube set. TLC stands for “tough, light, and compliant,” which are the characteristics they select in steel.

On each model and size, they select the optimum blend of tubing diameters, wall thickness, and butting profiles to yield a frame built to last, as light as practical and exceedingly comfortable for the rider.

  • High-quality, hand-picked steel tubing is solid and durable, able to withstand impacts and corrosion better than other materials.
  • Affordable, allowing for more customization options and personalization of the frame geometry, tubing, and finish.
  • Comfortable and compliant, offering a smooth ride quality and natural vibration damping on rough surfaces.
  • Timeless and classic, retaining its appeal and value over the years.
