The Endless Journey: Fighting Marine Plastic in Vietnam

Plastic waste is a crisis of immense proportions for our ocean. The latest research estimates that 11 million metric tons of plastics enter the ocean each year and that this number could triple by 2040 without drastic action. Vietnam is among the countries most impacted by plastic pollution, and the country is working to reduce the amount of marine plastic litter. Currently, Ocean Conservancy is supporting Vietnam in the fight against marine plastic debris through “Strategic Plastic Litter Abatement in the Sông Hồng (SPLASH) River Project” and “Accelerating Efforts to Reduce Ocean Plastic in Vietnam.”
