Running 170 Miles: Owyhee Canyonlands

Jeff Browning and Jesse Haynes attempt to run the last 170 miles of the new Oregon Desert Trail (ODT) in a four-day span. They were supported by photographers Fred Marmsater and Jonathan Byers and Trailhead Labs’ Jereme Monteau.

This is one of the last great wilderness areas in the states where you can still see the Milky Way. Sure, it’s not easy to access, but the untouched lands and minimal light pollution are worth every cut, scrape, and moment of uncertainty.

Trail running isn’t for everyone, it’s quite difficult and requires stamina that few humans can build. But for those who enjoy it’s challenges, well, they are rewarded with Mother Nature’s bounty — Owyhee Canyonlands.
