2017 is shaping up to be the year for achievement holidays. The new travel trend goes beyond a single cooking course or photography lesson and sees more vacationers using their time abroad to master new skills and gain certifications. Responding to the demand, Wilderness Scotland has launched a new sea kayaking adventure that combines essential paddling instruction, with charming accommodations, fresh and inventive cuisine and the wild Scottish coast. With a guide to guest ratio of 1:4 and a maximum of 8 participants per departure, there is plenty of time for individual coaching from the expert sea kayaking team. The small-group will gain a new seaworthy skill and a fresh perspective on a destination largely known for its whisky, golf and green glens.
Wilderness Scotland’s new five-night tour traverses the idyllic inlets, sandy beaches and whitewashed villages of the lesser explored Northwest Highlands. Local experts will share their techniques and guide adventurers around sheltered sea lochs, passing remote bays and wild uninhabited islands known for eagle, otter and dolphin sightings.
An adventure in comfort, guests of the country’s only five-star accredited adventure travel company will check into a traditional Torridon inn known for its hearty meals made with local ingredients, cozy rooms and legendary Highland hospitality. Additional highlights include watching the sunset from Shieldaig, the freshest seafood dining in Applecross, and a rest day hike to take in the views from an elevated perspective.
The trip debuts May 13th to 18th, 2017 with additional departures throughout June, July and August.
With the best guides in the industry, unrivalled destination expertise and a fierce commitment to sustainable travel, travelers can be sure that every Wilderness Scotland experience has been obsessively researched and personally vetted for its innovation, style and quality.
