How Marin Names Their Bikes

Ever wondered how Marin names their bikes? Well, most of their bikes are named after places, things, or trails in Marin County, CA. Duncan heads out with Marin brand director, Chris Holmes, to find out a little more about the names behind the bikes you ride.

Did you know?

Marin began naming models after the iconic landmarks of Marin county in 1986: Muirwoods, Bolinas Ridge, Pine Mountain, Indian Fire Trail, Eldridge Grade, and Hidden Canyon.

Additionally, Marin is based close to the urban cycling hotbed of San Francisco. They were at the forefront of the new hybrid category in 1991, and introduced some of the first models in the industry, expanding the brand into a new segment of riders.

We reviewed the Marin Presidio 3—see if it’s the bike for you.

Pretty cool to ride a brand that’s part of cycling history.
