Going Left: Surf History With Gerry Lopez and Wayne Lynch

Gerry Lopez and Wayne Lynch have spent most of their lives looking forward—especially when they were finding new lines in the tube and on the face. But the two surfers sat down to take a look back, swapping stories about influence, innovation and how surfing taught them to go left when the whole establishment was going right.

As we listen to their story, we can’t help but think about what surfing might look like had these two not pushed for progression. The boards, the style, and even the industry — it would likely all be different had Wayne not explored the rails of his boards. Fortunately, we can sit back and share these thoughts knowing things worked our for the better, enabling us to grow up with one of the most rewarding sports known to mankind — surfing.
