Behind The Jacket: The 686 GLCR GORE-TEX® Paclite® Multi Jacket with Micheal Akira West

For the first time in its 25-year history, 686 is releasing a 3-season jacket that can hold its own in the winter, spring and fall. While some brands tout they have a ‘magic’ jacket, they often fall short when the white stuff falls from the sky. That’s not the case with the Multi. This is truly a jacket you can ski/snowboard or take with you on other winter adventures, but still use when the weather is less than perfect the rest of the year.

Part of 686’s GLCR collection of feature rich, highly technical jackets, the Multi is made using two layer GORE-TEX Paclite fabric with DWR coating (engineered specifically to be light, packable and breathable) and can be folded up to fit in an included quick carry pouch.

Other highlights of the jacket include:

– Removable, internal, webbed backpack straps, great for shedding heat when skinning/splitboarding, hiking or simply commuting on a train.

– Fully taped GORE-TEX seams and YKK Aquaguard zippers

– Internal smartphone pocket and inner mesh pocket

– Merino wool collar for comfort and heat control (few, if any brands have this for the current season or next winter – certain 686 men’s and women’s jackets for snow will have it as well)

– Weighs 16 ounces
