Quadratec Inc., the world’s largest independent retailer of parts and accessories for Jeep® vehicles, unveiled its 50 Cleanups in 50 States Stewardship Grant Fund in partnership with Tread Lightly!, an organization whose mission is to protect and enhance recreation access by promoting outdoor ethics.
The ’50-for-50’ program will fully support one stewardship project in each state over the next 24 months that enhances or improves off-road or public land access.
“Quadratec has always known the value of maintaining access to our public lands and off-road trails and believe it is our responsibility to support enthusiasts working towards improving the environment,” said Ted Wentz, CEO of Quadratec. “We’re proud to partner with Tread Lightly! for this 50-for-50 program to help keep America’s parks, forests, and trails open for future generations.”
The ’50-for-50’ stewardship grant fund will help project managers pay for equipment, fees, volunteer support, food, fuel, signage, and other miscellaneous costs.
Quadratec worked with industry partners Tread Lightly! and the Bureau of Land Management to launch its ’50-for-50’ program during the recent Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah — funding a work project on Kane Creek Trail that enacted protective buck-and-rail fencing around an important historical petroglyph site.
“There is no better place to kick off our 50-for-50 stewardship initiative than right in Moab during Easter Jeep Safari,” said Quadratec Director of Content Eric Ammerman. “Important projects like this are exactly what our program seeks to help, and we can’t wait to see where the next 49 takes us.”
Quadratec has been a supporting partner of Tread Lightly! for more than 20 years, and a longtime fundraiser for Tread Lightly!’s stewardship programs. The company has also promoted Tread Lightly! and other trail restoration efforts through its Quadratec Cares ‘Energize the Environment’ program.
“We’re thrilled to launch the Quadratec 50-for-50 stewardship fund and improve public lands across the United States,” said Tread Lightly! Executive Director Matt Caldwell. “Thank you to Quadratec for their longtime support and helping improve America’s public lands.”
Clubs and individuals are required to be active, supporting members of Tread Lightly! to be eligible to apply for ’50-for-50’ grant funding. To learn more about the Quadratec ’50-for-50 program, visit quadratec.com/quadratecs-50-states-50-trails-initiative.
