Polydrops, a trailblazing manufacturer of next-generation travel trailers, launched the P21—an ultra-efficient, all-electric trailer that reimagines sustainable adventure. Designed for extended off-grid stays in nature, the P21 combines cutting-edge technology with functional living spaces, making it a true home away from home.
Thanks to its aerodynamic build, the P21 minimizes the necessity for frequent EV charging, saving your valuable time on the road. Equipped with standard off-grid climate control system, the P21 ensures sustainable and uninterrupted travel experiences, providing added convenience and peace of mind. But the P21 is at home towed behind gas vehicles, too.
Whether you’re embarking on a weekend getaway or a cross-country adventure, the Polydrops P21 sets the standard for unparalleled comfort, making every trip a memorable and enjoyable experience for your family.
What Makes the Polydrops P21 Special?
“The P21 represents a paradigm shift in mobile living. “By focusing on energy production, conservation, and efficient utilization, we’ve created a travel trailer that can serve as a true home away from home, even in remote locations.

Aerodynamic efficiency
The P21 boasts an unrivaled aerodynamic design, minimizing the necessity for frequent EV charging. Whether you have a hybrid, gas-powered vehicle, or electric vehicle, this sleek trailer reduces MPG reduction and range loss, saving valuable time on the road. Its wedge front and boat tail ensure seamless airflow and optimal performance.
Energy production and conservation
- Massive 1300W Solar Array: Developed in partnership with Aptera, the P21’s solar panels provide sustainable energy for off-grid adventures.
- Industry-Leading Thermal Insulation: The zero thermal bridge cabin and rigid insulation offer up to five times better thermal performance than comparable trailers.
- 12,000 BTU Heat Pump: Enjoy year-round comfort without compromising energy efficiency.
Practical design philosophy
Polydrops takes a fundamentally different approach to EV-friendly travel trailers. Instead of complex propulsion systems, we prioritize aerodynamic efficiency. This allows electric vehicles to tow the P21 without significant range loss, resulting in a lower total cost of ownership. Plus, the streamlined design eliminates the need for separate charging systems or additional maintenance.
Road-tested performance
In testing, a Tesla Model Y Long Range towing the P21 achieved an impressive 240 miles on a single charge at 55mph. The P21’s aerodynamic profile minimally impacts fuel economy, making it an ideal choice for eco-conscious travelers.
Architectural touches
Designed by founders with extensive experience in architectural design, every aspect of the P21 has been thoughtfully considered to provide the ultimate mobile living space. From its sleek and minimalistic exterior to its expertly insulated interior, the P21 is built to protect your family from unexpected weather, making it suitable for use in all seasons.
“Our design philosophy prioritizes ease of use, eliminating the need for separate charging systems or additional maintenance. We’re confident that as the EV market evolves, our streamlined approach will prove to be the most practical and cost-effective solution for eco-conscious travelers.”

Final Thoughts
The Polydrops P21 is a seriously appealing EV-friendly trailer for modern light-weight towing. The design and technology is simple yet compelling across the board, from the exterior aerodynamics to the interior refinement and customization options. Do we expect families to replace their luxurious Winnebago tomorrow? Of course not. However, we predict more and more weekend car travelers will explore how a solar-powered trailer can offer simplicity and ease of use not seen in this industry.
The elephant in the room? The real-world MPG for electric vehicles while towing a Polydrops trailer. In-house testing proved a 240-mile range at 55mph. Depending on which state you’re in, 55mph might be on the low end of realistic driving speeds. And long-distance trips will require even more time for EVs (charging station, anyone?). But that shouldn’t be a surprise if you’re big into this alternative lifestyle.
The P21’s width is another factor to consider. At well under 6ft, a family of three might be scooching and squeezing while they trade places. And keep in mind the P21 doesn’t use the same plumbing system as a larger Toy Hauler or Airstream. A deal breaker? Not a chance. Towing a solar-powered second home with your electric powered car is a feat in itself. What a world we live in.
Now, for the weekend warrior with a gas-powered car or truck, the Polydrops P21 looks to be serious fun. Dare we say a no-brainer? Indeed.
