In what the New York Times has called “the internet’s highest honor,” global youth-culture media leader Teton Gravity Research (TGR), has been recognized for excellence in digital content production.
TGR has been nominated for “Best Branded Editorial Experience” in the 20th Annual Webby Awards for its work on The Unfound: Bryan Iguchi, a multimedia digital feature about snowboarding icon Bryan Iguchi. The Unfound: Bryan Iguchi, presented by Volcom and Gore-Tex, documents the journey of a man dedicated to his passion, elegantly displaying the story in photography, words, and video.
Nomination in this category, which recognizes unique immersive digital content, is a competitive and important distinction. Other nominees include large, mainstream media producers Rolling Stone, The Atlantic, CNN, and The Wall Street Journal.
“Being nominated for a Webby with media giants like CNN and WSJ is a huge honor for the team here at TGR,” says CEO Todd Jones. “Of course, winning this category would leave us more than thrilled. It would stand as recognition of the talents of our remarkable digital team and help cement TGR as the true leader in youth action-sports media.”
The winner for Best Branded Editorial Experience will be chosen through social-media voting, which closes April 21, 2016.
In addition to this nomination, TGR received an honorable mention in the Online Film & Video category for the viral One Shot segment featuring Brandon Semenuk, which was released last fall.
