Nearly 2,000 athletes from 37 countries have already signed up to participate in the Andorra Ultra Trail Vallnord. With a 20% increase in registration from this time last year, the small nation of Andorra is hosting this continually growing, challenging race. Plus there is a race for everyone in the family including the Solidaritrail that can be entered by anybody with varying abilities.
Nestled in the eastern Pyrenees mountains, between Spain and France, Andorra is one of the smallest nations in Europe. What it may lack in size, Andorra makes up in height, (with an average elevation of 6,549 ft) and beauty. More than 2,000 participants have signed up so far and are runners from around the world have already registered to take part in the eighth the Andorra Ultra Trail Vallnord.
While registration has filled for the iconic Ronda del Cims (Round the Peaks), a 170km/105.6mi race with 13,500 meters of vertical gain and loss, there are still spots open for the Mitic, el Celestrail and al Marato dels Cims. Race registration will close June 10, 2016.
The Mitic (Mythic), a 112km/69.6mi route with total elevation gain of 9,700 meters, will host up to 500 runners. Participants will discover the wildest and most symbolic places the Pyrenees mountains.
The Celestrail, a 83km/50mi route with a total climb of 5,000 meters, will also welcome 500 runners. The route reveals the landscape of Andorra under full moon light.
The Marató dels Cims (Peaks Marathon) allows for 750 participants. It will be a 42km/26mi race with 3,000 meters of elevation gain across the valleys of Andorra.
The Solidaritrail, is a 10km/6.21mi hike open to 600 participants, sure to be popular for adventurous nature lovers.
