Picking out the right surfboard is a tough decision, whether you are an experienced surfer or a beginner. There are so many different sizes and styles of boards these days fit for any type of surfer and wave conditions – it can be a little overwhelming.
Way more variables exist beyond your height, weight, and surfing ability in the process of finding the right surfboard design for you. What kind of waves do you want to ride the board on: point breaks, beach breaks, big waves, small waves, windchop, groundswell? Do you like longboards, shortboards, “alternative” or “retro” boards, or everything in between? There is no right or wrong answer; there is a surfboard out there for everyone. The whole point is just to have fun riding the best equipment for the appropriate conditions. INDOEK has teamed up with the guys over at Union Surfboards to make it easier for you to choose the right surfboard design with this helpful decision tree infographic. We may not have covered every wave-riding device under the sun, but we did our best to have a little fun with a surfer’s decision-making process when looking for a new shred stick.
